It may be hard to believe, but the first Harry Potter novel was published all the way back in 1997. That is difficult to believe because it seems like these magical characters and their stories are just as popular as ever today. If you need proof, then just take a look at all of the Harry Potter-themed events that take place each year across the country, including here in the Bluegrass State. In fact, coming up very soon, you can attend a Harry Potter-themed event in Kentucky called A Wizard’s Christmas. This traveling attraction will “transfigure” the Louisville Palace Theatre from Friday, December 15 to Sunday, December 17, 2023, and it’ll be a magical time for the whole family.

If you can quote lines from Harry Potter and if you've read the books over and over again, then you'll want to make plans to visit the Louisville Palace very soon. From December 15 to December 17, the Louisville Palace will transform into "Alabaster School of Witchcraft" and its surroundings. A Wizard's Christmas, a traveling attraction, will set up as a Harry Potter-themed event in Kentucky.

The event takes place from 11 AM to 2 PM, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM all three days.
The iconic Louisville Palace Theatre makes for a wonderful location to hold this event, with its grand architecture and decor. This is the event's tenth year, and it has continued to grow and grow, attracting as many as 3,000 people in years past. It's now a Kentucky Christmas tradition.

The Louisville Palace transforms into a magical setting, with guests being able to dine in one of five different themed, immersive dining halls.

Professors of magic will rotate through each hall, providing an interactive experience of different wizardly subjects, like Potions, Dueling, Divination, Herbology, and more. Your ticket includes a wizard-themed three-course meal along with the immersive experience, and access to the Magical Marketplace, featuring exclusive, hand-made items along with "fan favorites" according to the A Wizard's Christmas website.
If you've been to a Harry Potter event before, it was likely nothing like this. Previous iterations of A Wizard's Christmas have been held at the Louisville Zoo, but no matter the location, it is meant to be immersive and it is also family friendly! Harry Potter fans of all ages can come be a part of the fun.
