Anyone who has been to Kentucky knows that the state is a vast expanse of lush nature that is filled with beauty. Rushing waterfalls cause one to marvel at the majesty of this state and there are many trails one can take to see some of them. After all, the state has over 800 of them! The Kentucky Wildlands has organized a regionwide trail to 17 of the most stunning waterfalls in the state: The Kentucky Wildlands Waterfall Trail. These are the best of the best! 

The trail begins in Albany at Seventy-Six Falls - Clinton County and guides you through the region to 16 more falls, ending at Bad Branch Falls in Wolfe County. Let’s see some of these lovely cascades!

We begin at Seventy-Six Falls - Clinton County which rests along Indian Creek. You’ll find scenic bridges along well-maintained trails with gorgeous views all the way through. Enjoy a picnic at a sheltered area by the brink of these falls and be soothed by the flowing waters.

A little further along the itinerary is Eagle Falls - McCreary County. A 1.5-mile trail with views of Cumberland Falls will bring you around to this gorgeous 44-foot waterfall.

The final stop along this magnificent waterfall trail is Bad Branch Falls in Letcher County. You’ll find it on the south side of Pine Mountain cascading 60 feet down a sandstone cliff in a breathtaking hemlock forest. Enjoy the mist and the rainbows emanating from these wondrous waters!
