When spring comes to Kentucky, we like nothing better than to get out into nature and enjoy fields and trails full of flowers blooming in so many vivid colors. Our state’s natural beauty is something we’re glad to share, and if you’re looking for a wildflower-filled trail to tackle, check out this easy hike at the University of Kentucky Arboretum.
The arboretum at the University of Kentucky is a gem we’re quite proud of. It’s a wonderful place to see spring wildflowers because you can see so many varieties at once, in manicured gardens and in wild patches.
The trail here is an easy and accessible 2.5-mile trail that’s perfect for all ages. You’ll get a close-up view of flowers like these hydrangeas and get to take a whiff of their lovely scents. You're welcome to bring your dog along, provided they're on a leash.
You’ll find blooms of every color on this trail, like these bright red cockscombs. This is a great place to see so many of the wildflowers that can be found all over Kentucky. It's a fantastic way to get a bit of exercise and fresh air while seeing the beautiful blooms of the Bluegrass State.
