When beloved attractions from our childhood close their doors for a final time, it’s always sad to say goodbye and be left with only the memories. There are many nostalgic places around our state that unfortunately have not been brought to life, but this past summer one of the most memorable ones once again began inviting visitors to its mountain.

Guntown Mountain was once a popular family attraction in Cave City that was known for its chair lift up the mountain and unique western-themed fun, but it's been a bit of a ghost town since it shut down.
That is, until this past summer when the Froggett's purchased the property with the promise of returning it to its former beloved status, and adding even more features that everyone is sure to love. The response has been remarkable as locals and visitors alike have returned to this family attraction atop a mountain in south central Kentucky. Froggett's Guntown Mountain has perfectly blended the original with the new, maintaining the wild west theme, but adding a few new features to make it fresh and modern.

When you arrive at the base of the mountain, the first attraction you come to is the Haunted Hotel, the oldest haunted attraction of its kind in the entire country.
You can choose to visit the Haunted Hotel for $5/person, or head on up the mountain to the Wild West Town that's filled with exciting family fun. Admission to the top of the mountain is $15.00 for adults, $10.00 for kids 3 to 12, and children 2 and under are free. The Wild West Town itself is unique and interesting to visit, and it's also the stage for many other features of the theme park.
The staged gunfights and hanging are a main feature of the town, and you can get a front row seat by relaxing out on the porch of one of the buildings.
Actors add a little thrill to the shows, as they're authentically acted out right in front of you. The scene definitely takes you back in time, far away from the hills of Kentucky.
Other attractions throughout the town include a Can-Can Show, Country Music Show, Stunt Show, and more.
Kids love the old time, unique feel of the town and of course the excitement of the shows. There is also a Nerf Blaster Battle Room where you can challenge friends to a Nerf war. You may bring your own Nerf gun or they have them available to rent. Also, take the family to the Old Tyme Photos for a souvenir from your visit (extra cost for these photos). If you get hungry during your visit, concessions are available at the Lucky Lady Saloon.
