I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
Here in the Bluegrass, we take the whole dinner with a view concept very seriously. With so much natural beauty in the state, we are quite spoiled when it comes to scenic restaurants. But there’s one eatery that’s really above and beyond, offering diners a scenic experience even before they step foot inside its darling doors. This is the magic of Wallace Station, one of the most scenic restaurants in Kentucky.
Lined with historic stone fences and world-famous horse farms, Old Frankfort Pike is one of the most scenic drives in Kentucky.
It's along this iconic country road that you'll find Wallace Station, a secluded little restaurant that's surrounded by the rolling hills of Kentucky's incredible horse country.
This darling little eatery is housed in a building that's listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and was built around the turn of the 20th century.
Hungry for breakfast? This English muffin sandwich comes with a two-egg omelette, ham, and white cheddar cheese on a made-from-scratch English muffin from local favorite Midway Bakery.
Chef Ouita is a Bluegrass chef through and through, and is elevating Kentucky classics to new heights. Case in point: this classic Country Ham and Pimiento Cheese sandwich, a Kentucky picnic favorite!
Our favorite menu item, however, is the Inside Out Hot Brown Sandwich. It comes with roast turkey, ham, bacon, tomato, and white cheddar mornay with your choice of white, wheat, or rye bread. Talk about taking an iconic Kentucky classic to the next level! We're drooling.
Wallace Station is a special place that's located in, well, a special place. This region in central Kentucky is pure pastoral perfection: horse stables, family-run farms, country stores, winsome small towns, rural scenery, and, of course, Wallace Station -- the most delicious deli in the Bluegrass!
