I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
Kentucky is world-renowned for its bourbon, and this spirited devotion is felt all across the state. The most recent addition for Bluegrass bourbonites is a brand-new bourbon-themed pub located in Ashland, Kentucky. Tomcat Bourbon & Brew House is an amazing spot that’s quickly become a favorite among Bluegrass bourbon enthusiasts, and definitely needs to be added to your Kentucky bucket list!
Located in the heart of downtown Ashland, this new business boasts an antique-style bar, staging area for live music, and, of course, lots and lots of Kentucky bourbon.
The bar was originally located in a Chicago pub in the early 1900s. It was removed and sat in an antique dealer's warehouse until the Tomcat owners rescued it, personally transported it all the way to Kentucky, and brought it back to life, lovingly restoring this winsome wood piece to its former glory. It's a stunning antique, and is all original, save for the bar top, which had to be replaced.
