Small towns are not surprising in Kentucky, as our state is filled with them. Sure, we have a few larger cities, but much of Kentucky is made up of quaint, little towns ranging in size from a few dozen residents to many thousand. If you think you grew up in a small town in Kentucky, then you need to hear of this city that is surely smaller than your hometown. South Park View is so small, that in the 2010 census, there were only 7 residents. You may be surprised to learn just how small this teeny town in Kentucky actually is.
There are small towns, and then there are towns that you'll miss if you blink. South Park View is definitely the latter, with only 7 residents as of the 2010 census.
There's not a lot to see when you drive through this little town. It's only about 20 minutes south of Louisville, so you may not even realize this it is its own city.

There is actually a reason this small town is so incredibly tiny. In 2000, the population was 196 — not a lot of people, but definitely more than 7. If you take a look at the map below, you'll see a clue as to why the population decreased so drastically in 10 years.
The Louisville International Airport was expanded in the 2000s, and runways were realigned, making the noise level above South Park View "significant." Residents in the town were relocated and the city became more like the photo above.
The town is also close to Jefferson Memorial Forest, a favorite hiking and adventure destination in the Louisville area.
When searching for homes or businesses within the South Park View limits, you'll be hard-pressed to find anything. Challenger Lifts Inc. recently built their warehouse on South Park Road.
So there are actually people who visit this tiny town on a daily basis.
With its closeness to Louisville, South Park View is likely considered by most to be a part of this major city. But it is, in fact, its own town, and has been since 1961.
