I am somewhat a cliche'. I grew up running around barefoot on a farm in Kentucky.
I love writing, art, sunshine, all animals and my incredibly patient husband, who tolerates my "crazy animal lady" side.
Kentucky has some uniquely themed restaurants spread across the state, some of which you might not be aware of. The food is always delightful, and the atmosphere is often eye-catching and entertaining. Each one has its own unique take on the theme it chose, and will capture your heart—probably after catching your stomach.
Here are 10 uniquely themed restaurants in Kentucky:
This unique southern farm style store and restaurant is as homey as Great Grandma’s place once was. You will find plenty of antiques and vintage tools and other supplies that will take you back to a time before some of us were born. The food is southern in style, and the sweet tea is sweet. Not to mention, there is a lovely view of the Ohio from the deck and plenty of outdoor activities, such as a petting zoo during the spring and summer.

9. Gangsters Dueling Piano Bar at 18 E 5th Street in Newport
This unique bar and restaurant offers both Italian and American cuisine on the menu, and literal dueling pianists. You never know which one will out do the other when they get started. You are sure to have an entertaining evening and some fantastic food if you enjoy classic piano venues. They are very unique compared to other forms of live music, but equally festive and fun.
This festive restaurant has a colorful, surf type atmosphere, including a Tiki Bar and art. Not to mention, you will be served some out of this world cuisine from a very flexible Mexican menu.
7. Irish Acres Antiques and Glitz at 4205 Fords Mill Road in Versailles.
This glamorous restaurant and antique store has a distinctive feminine environment, but men are comfortable here as well. It is most assuredly a place you’ll want to take a lady friend for an impression. Be advised, the restaurant is downstairs and the place, though beautiful and romantic, is not handicap accessible.

6. Julep Cup and Seahorse Lounge at 111 Woodland Ave, Lexington
This restaurant is exactly what one should expect in the Lexington area. The interior is decorated with a variety of well done horse paintings and other art work. It has the kind of old south charm expected in Kentucky, and the Hot Brown, shrimp and grits and bread pudding with bourbon sauce are divine.
This is the best little tourist trap in Kentucky with a distinctly vintage atmosphere, including the décor. The southern theme includes drinks in mason jars and very friendly service. The food is absolutely incredible, including their Hot Brown, pork chops, spinach and artichoke spread on chicken and the pie...you will want to eat the pie for sure.
4. Shakespeare and Co Chinoe at 367 W. Short St in Lexington
The elaborate kitschy, feminine style décor in this delightful restaurant makes one feel as if they are in a plush mansion. Diners can choose between American, Greek and Arabic cuisines on the menu.
3. The Feedmill Restaurant and Bar at 3541 US Hwy 60E in Morganfield
This Cajun restaurant is all about good service and delicious Cajun cuisine. Visitors will find a variety of seafood, including crab legs, crayfish, gumbo and gator tail. You won’t regret the visit.
If you love Hispanic style foods, you will absolutely love Suplex Tacos. Not only do they have the best burritos, nachos, tacos and quesadillas, but they also have fantastic southern California style cuisine. Everything is prepared fresh and served in an incredibly festive Luchador wrestling themed restaurant, complete with masks.

This amazing restaurant offers Cuban cuisine with a flair. The traditional dishes are completely mouthwatering, and the servers are quick to answer any questions about their food. We have dined here several times and enjoyed festive music one day a week or on a weekend. Everything on the menu is excellent, but we’ve found the tacos, quesadilla, Tostones, Ropa Vieja, Pollo al Mojo, Cubano, Flam, and special coffees to be completely mouthwatering
