Kentucky is a gorgeous state with so many hidden nature spots to discover. We’re here to help you find them! While the name sounds a bit scary, the place is anything but. Dog Slaughter Falls in the Daniel Boone National Forest is an absolutely beautiful swimming hole in Kentucky with a lovely waterfall cascading into it.
Dog Slaughter Falls is in the Daniel Boone National Forest near Corbin, Kentucky, and can be found at the end of a moderate 2.4-mile out-and-back hiking trail through beautiful woods.
As you get closer to the swimming hole and the waterfalls you’ll see the lovely babbling creek where you can just take a moment to enjoy the sounds of the water and the birds as you breathe out the stress of the city.
While some parts of the trail have helpful wooden bridges to help you along, other areas are more rocky and it would be best to bring some good hiking boots.
At last, you arrive at these rushing falls where you can jump in the water to cool off and enjoy the idyllic scenery that surrounds you or simply sit and let the sounds of the falls soothe you.
