One of the best ways to spend a day in Kentucky is to hop in the car and explore the backroads. There are parts of our state where you can drive alongside horse farms, through national forests, and even up a mountainside. But some of the best driving takes place just along the simple farmland that beautifully fills our landscape. This time of year, as you drive through the Bluegrass State, you may come across a vibrant field of sunflowers. Many of these are privately-owned and none of them should be disturbed, but there is a local farm that hosts events where you can visit these favorite flowers up close. Kalon’s Korner, previously known as Kalon Farms, has an enchanting sunflower field in Kentucky and you should follow along with this family and plan a visit soon.
Kalon's Korner is a lovely, family-owned farm in Nicholasville, just south of Lexington.
This beautiful area of Kentucky is filled with picturesque farms and makes for a great evening drive in the summertime. And this year, be sure to plan your drive around a special event taking place at this charming farm.
Kalon's Korner is a family farm that grows sunflowers, wildflowers, and blackberries, and they host events for the public throughout the season.
While you cannot visit this private property anytime you like, you can attend an event, such as Sunfest, which will begin this upcoming week. The photo above shows the entrance to the farm, where signs will be hung at the time of the events to direct you onto the property.

As of right now, Sunfest will take place Monday, July 22nd and Tuesday, July 23rd from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
During the event, you'll be able to walk along and between the sunflowers, through multiple fields. It's the perfect opportunity for photo ops and relaxation amongst these cheerful flowers.
If you're wondering about the cost to view and wander around the sunflowers, keep in mind that this is a family farm and they also want to protect this stunning sunflower field in Kentucky. Tickets can be purchased upon arrival (cash and check only), and they are well worth the chance to experience these summertime masterpieces.
Most visitors will likely stay in the main field of the farm, but with a quick cross of this creek, there is more to experience.
Kalon's Korner is the answer and you'll want to plan a visit now. Check on dates for Sunfest and take a scenic drive to these fields that are already bursting with color and pure, summertime beauty.
