Most Kentucky State Parks have a welcome sign and Visitor’s Center somewhere near the entrance so when you drive in, you know you’ve arrived. But Kingdom Come State Park, a scenic mountain park in Kentucky, takes it a step further. Near the entrance to the park you’ll find a picturesque stone gazebo that gives you a taste of the beauty you’ll find here. A stop here is a must when visiting Kingdom Come State Park, but it isn’t the only thing to do while exploring these mountains in Kentucky.
Situated in the crest of Pine Mountain, Kingdom Come State Park is an idyllic place in Kentucky for beautiful scenery and mountain air.
The park includes over 1,200 acres of unspoiled wilderness and you can experience it with the overlooks and trails throughout the park. If you're looking for a place to visit in this area of Kentucky, Kingdom Come is a must.
When you arrive to the park, there is a Visitor's Center and signage, but don't miss a chance to stop at the stone gazebo.
The Bullock Overlook is shown above and can easily be reached by car or bike when traveling around the park. Take a look at all of the overlooks and other features of the park on its map.
14 hiking trails are also scattered through the park and take you along rugged mountain terrain.
All of the trails are fairly short on their own, but can be put together for a longer adventure. You'll also want to drive along the scenic Little Shepherd Trail, which makes its way through the park.
To make a day of your visit, or even multiple days, pay a visit to the lake for fishing or a picnic.
Kingdom Come State Park also offers tent camping and a mini golf course that's open April - October. Mountain biking is also popular in the area if you're experienced and want to view the park on two wheels.
