When you think of Kentucky, you may not think of crystal clear water. However, in LaGrange you will find the most gorgeous, sapphire lake that will make you think you’ve reached the Gulf. At Falling Rock Park – The Quarry, you can enjoy this pristine water, while relaxing in the warm Kentucky sun.
In 1996, Joe Clark had a vision of creating a relaxing destination, where adults could enjoy beautiful scenery and crystal clear water. Falling Rock originally opened to divers only, but was soon opened to the public.

The sapphire water is the quarry's best feature. The water is kept impeccably clean and clear thanks to its source - rain water! That means the water is free of run-off dirt, pollution from motors and litter.
When founder Joe passed away in 2016, his family decided to keep the dream alive. The quarry continues to grow, offering diving lessons, special events and its infamous relaxing weekend fun.
Safety is Falling Rock's number one priority, which is why the park is for adults only and alcohol is strictly prohibited. You must have a flotation device in the water and they also have rules in place to keep the water perfectly clear. There are plenty of opportunities for fun: scuba diving, paddle boarding and jumping off of the large inflatable are just some examples.
Falling Rock keeps the excitement going all year by sharing beautiful photos on their Facebook page (FRP, LLC - Falling Rock Park - The Quarry). It's a stunning spot and especially captivating on hot summer days, with its bright blue water.
There's no other destination like this in Kentucky and definitely no other body of water with this sparkling sapphire color. It's a true hidden gem in the heart of the Bluegrass State.
