You've Never Seen A Kentucky Restaurant Like This One Before

I grew up in Louisville, Kentucky. I have lived elsewhere twice, but keep coming back. I'm a video editor and freelance writer who enjoys watching people wearing University of Louisville uniforms excel at sports, scaling the faces of large rocks, and hanging out with my border collie/laborador/cattle dog mutt thingy that I have.
On the corner of two winding country roads, right on the edge of Daniel Boone National Forest, is a small restaurant that resembles a log cabin. It is seemingly in the middle of nowhere, but it is one of the most unique places to eat in the Red River Gorge area, and has a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. However, it’s more than just a restaurant. You can also buy a variety of outdoor gear you might need, and the second floor is a hostel, so you might as well stay a while!
Skybridge Station is located at 8 KY-715 in Pine Ridge. If you get off Mountain Parkway at exit 40, you'll find Skybridge Station at the corner of KY-715 and KY-15.
Many of the surrounding counties are dry, but Skybridge Station is located in Wolfe County, which allows the sale of alcohol every day except for Sunday. Skybridge offers many local craft beer options on draft.
Seriously, their hotdogs and quesadillas make the perfect meal to refuel after an active day of hiking, rock climbing, or kayaking in the Red River Gorge.
If hot dogs aren't your thing, don't worry, their quesadillas are winners. They have vegetarian options as well, so there's something for everyone here.
Since Skybridge Station is located adjacent to the Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge State Resort Park, they also sell a wide range of outdoor gear. Need rock climbing shoes? Some extra carabiners? Some extra layers for a chilly hike? Or even just a map of the area? Skybridge has you covered.

The second floor of Skybridge serves as a hostel. You'll feel like you're staying in a secluded log cabin, but with the convenience of a tasty restaurant just down the stairs.
Skybridge Station is a great lodging option if you're looking for something cheaper than a private cabin or something a little more comfortable than primitive camping.
For more information about Skybridge Station, or to ask about booking one of their hostel beds, call 606-668-9927, or visit their Facebook page. Has anyone ever eaten or stayed at Skybridge Station before?
