Juicy blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries are some of the tastiest treats of the summer, and they’re especially delicious when they’re fresh-picked. There’s a wonderful orchard right here in Kentucky that allows you to pick your own berries… and they’ll be ripe and ready to go all summer long.
For a fun adventure in the fresh air, visit Reed Valley Orchard to pick your own blueberries and raspberries. Dana & Trudie Reed planted their first trees back in 1988, and the orchard has been thriving ever since.
This beautiful family farm and orchard includes 3,000 apple trees of different varieties, as well as peach and pear trees, raspberry and blackberry bushes, blueberry plants, and a huge pumpkin patch. There's even a pretty nature trail to explore.
You'll love picking blackberries here from early July to late August. The blackberries bushes are a thornless variety, so you can pick to your heart's content.
Be sure to stop by for pumpkins and apples in the fall, too. Apples are ripe starting in mid-July and going through October, and pumpkins are ready for picking in late September.
Make sure to bring cash to pay for your berries — the orchard doesn't accept debit or credit cards.
Make sure to visit Reed Valley Orchard’s website to see what’s in season right now. You’ll also want to follow the orchard’s Facebook page to stay informed throughout the berry season.
