Roadside attractions seem to be few and far between these days, but any road-tripper will tell you that they are still a great way to take a break from the drive and connect with a local community. Many Kentuckians love a quirky attraction we previously featured here, and those who frequent the area around Barren River Lake will likely have a lot to say about this beloved roadside stop. Paradise Point Marketplace in Scottsville, just minutes from the lake, is a family-owned restaurant, shop, and all-around fun destination that is just bursting with charm. In fact, along with its market, it may just be the quirkiest restaurant in Kentucky, and it’s definitely a fun-filled paradise you’ll want to check out.
Paradise Point is located near Barren River Lake in Scottsville, not far from Bowling Green and Glasgow.
You can't miss this unique restaurant and shop when driving along 31 and you definitely don't want to pass up a chance to pull over and stop in.
Paradise Point began as a happy accident when owner John Erskine bought the property on a whim and came home to tell his wife about their new adventure.
It's been a family affair ever since, and locals and visitors alike are so happy that John took that leap of faith. The family aimed to create a seasonal destination that had everything guests would want in a restaurant, store, and roadside stop, and they've definitely succeeded.

One of the best features of Paradise Point is its quirky sense of humor that draws you in and has you smiling from the second you pull into the lot.
If you're anywhere near the area, it's a great place to stop in for some food, a sweet treat (try the soft serve or a bakery item), a gift from the shop, and plenty of new memories.
The exterior of Paradise Point is eye-catching and the interior is just as quirky and fun-loving.
They also offer new items in a gift shop and food selections such as gourmet sauces, marinades, and salsas.
Aside from its obvious unique-factor, Paradise Point is known for its delicious hot dogs. They are steamed to perfection and served on a fresh poppyseed bun.
You have to order one of these on your visit, and don't forget to top it with your favorite accompaniments. If you're there in the morning, check out their breakfast offerings that include out-of-this-world biscuits and gravy and gooey french toast.

After you've checked out the property and grabbed a bite to eat, it's time to have a seat on the outdoor patio that has just as much character and charm as the rest of Paradise Point.
It is this character and charm that makes this a beloved roadside stop near the lake and it's also the passion and love behind it that have visitors falling in love with everything about it.
