Being a landlocked state, Kentucky isn’t generally considered a beach destination. However, this state is good at surprising people and it has a few inland beaches that are well worth visiting. One, in particular, is at Barren River Lake State Resort Park in Lucas, Kentucky. Let’s explore this inland beach in Kentucky.
Barren River Lake State Resort Park is a wonderful destination with a lodge, a great restaurant, and many amenities, but the best thing is its proximity to one of the best inland beaches in Kentucky.
This sandy beach is a welcome sight during a hot Kentucky summer day. If it weren’t for the trees on the other side, you might think you’re on a coastal beach.
If you’d prefer not to sit on the sand, there are a few benches around so that you can take in the stunning scenery in comfort. Plus, the sunsets here are gorgeous!
This pristine beach is open all year long, so you can come here in the winter and admire its beauty even when it’s too cold for swimming. Perhaps a day of winter fishing is in order.
Ample parking is available right by the beach so you don’t have to go for a long hike in order to access it. Bring a beach blanket and enjoy a lovely summer swim.
