If you live in Kentucky, hopefully you have a general idea of the geography of our state. Even still, many somehow don’t think about the fact that a part of our state’s border is made up of the mighty Mississippi River. A small portion of Kentucky that borders Missouri is where you can head in the Bluegrass to see a river that is filled with history. There are a few scenic parks in the area and one historic park in Kentucky that overlooks the river is perfect for a picnic. Spend time along the Mississippi at Columbus-Belmont State Park.
This scenic park in western Kentucky is a part of the Kentucky Great River Road, a route that is filled with historic and scenic stops.
This park is situated on a hill overlooking the river. It's not the largest of parks, nor does it offer the most activities, but it makes up for it in the unique surroundings.
This park is a great day trip if you're within a few hours, or you can include it on a road trip through the region.
There are 38 sites with utility hookup and everything else you need for a fun and relaxing camping getaway.
