I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
Hiking should be accessible for everyone we say; and, by and large, it is, in the Bluegrass State. Paved trails offer the most accessible hiking experience for families, newbie hikers, and those with limited mobility; and loop trails ensure an easy and direct route from start to finish. Add in some beautiful Bluegrass views, and you have the makings of an amazing and accessible hike! And this is exactly what you’ll find when you take the Scenic Loop Trail at Cherokee Park, which winds slowly around a creek bed and valley and is a peaceful and relaxing hiking adventure in Kentucky.
Part of the Olmsted Parks Conservancy, Cherokee Park was designated in 1891 as a place to enjoy the scenery and take umbrage in the beautiful and lush landscape of Louisville, Kentucky.
One of the original parks designed by Frederick Law Olmsted himself, the park provides a pastoral setting amid rolling hills, open meadows and woodlands of the Beargrass Creek valley.
The park's gently rolling hills were shaped from pasture lands to contain individual shade trees and tree groves. Woodland areas were incorporated into the design and edge plantings were added to soften the transition from open space to woodland.
Come and take refuge in the serene naturescape of Louisville's Cherokee Park. It's a breath of fresh air just a stone's throw from our busiest city; an urban oasis open for all to enjoy.
