I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.

Most of us pick our dining spot du jour for, say, a certain dish or special. Craving the best Nashville hot chicken sandwich of your life? Head to Freight House. In the mood for burgoo stew? Head to Moonlite Bar-B-Q! When a restaurant specializes in one particular dish, ordering is easy. At Windy Corner Market, however, you’ll face quite a culinary conundrum. Do you order an amazing plate of barbecue? A juicy burger and fries? A Kentucky po’ boy topped with fried green pickles? The *entire* menu at this casual Kentucky restaurant is so good, you’ll want to order one of everything — and you know what? Maybe you should!
Located in the heart of Kentucky Horse Country, Windy Corner harkens back to the days when general stores were community hubs, providing not just necessities, but also delicious meals, too.
Windy Corner is one of Chef Ouita Michel's dining endeavors; a place that honors local farmers, great food, and Kentucky tradition -- in the most delicious of ways, of course. This is elevated down-home cooking, y'all!
The menu will have you salivating as you try to decide just what to order. Will it be the Kentucky Boy, a spin on the Southern classic complete with pulled pork in bourbon barbecue sauce, crispy fried pickles, bourbon barrel beer cheese, red onion, shredded lettuce, *and* Chef Ouita's special sauce?
Of course, fried chicken is always a winner here in the Bluegrass. Windy Corner's buttermilk-brined chicken fingers are rolled and fried in seasoned Weisenberger flour and served with dijonaise, creamy slaw, and fries, for a downright delicious meal.
Dessert specials change by season and what's available, but if you're lucky, you'll come on a day when there are fresh beignets. Ice cream is always on the menu, too -- and it's always a great way to end a meal at Windy Corner.
Come for the menu, stay for the ambiance, the service, and, well, the entire menu. What can we say... this restaurant really is one of the best in the Bluegrass!
Have you been to Windy Corner Market in Lexington, Kentucky, before? This eatery truly is the best of the best, all wrapped in a home-made and delicious package.
