You can hop in your car, on a motorcycle or bike, and head out for a scenic ride through rolling hills, farmland, mountains, rocky tunnels, and more. And of course some of the most beautiful backroads in Kentucky can be found throughout horse country. Just outside of Lexington, the scenic route along Old Frankfort Pike and Pisgah Pike is a drive every Kentuckian should take. These beautiful backroads in Kentucky may just be the most idyllic in the state.
West of Lexington and Georgetown, amongst towns like Midway and Versailles, you'll find the rolling hills of horse country.
Along sections of Old Frankfort Pike and the shorter Pisgah Pike, you'll find grazing horses, wide-open spaces, beautiful barns, and some extravagant properties, hidden by fencing and lush trees.

The farms throughout this area are well-known by those familiar with racing and make up Kentucky's version of Hollywood Boulevard.
As you drive along these beautiful backroads in Kentucky, keep in mind that these are homes and locals are trying to get somewhere if they are driving through here.
