Nothing brings up more nostalgia than walking into a checked-table cloth filled diner, with the smell of seared burgers and crisp french fries cooking in the back. These diners of the past thankfully still exist today, and for good reason. Bard’s Burgers & Chili delivers this nostalgic experience and they have mouthwatering burgers to boot. You’ll definitely go nuts for what they offer at this burger eatery in Northern Kentucky.
Situated in Latonia, near Covington in Northern Kentucky, Bard's Burgers & Chili has reopened and is serving up some of the best food in Kentucky. The food and the atmosphere are both classically wonderful, making it worthy of a visit, no matter where you are located in the Bluegrass State.
The red and white checked table cloths and colorful decor are welcoming, as is the friendly and helpful staff. They are happy to help you decide what to try from their vast menu - the sky is the limit as to what type of burger you can create. Or better yet, stick with one of their perfectly concocted creations.
Bard's is especially known for a few out-of-this-world menu items, one of which is the Bardzilla challenge. If you can complete this epic food challenge, you win burgers for life, a couple of t-shirts and major bragging rights as a champion eater. Very few have beat it, but it's definitely worth a shot.
If you have a smaller appetite - although not by much - try their infamous 5.0 Burger. This bacon cheeseburger is sandwiched between a sweetly grilled donut. It may sound a little strange, but you won't think so after one bite of this legendary sandwich.
What's a good burger without delicious sides? Bard's specialty is cheese curds, which are made from fresh Wisconsin cheddar, which is delivered weekly. They are fried to order and likely the best in the area.
Take it even further and try the Poutine. This Canadian favorite includes fresh cut fries with cheese curds piled on top and then smothered in homemade gravy. Bard's also has Fried Pickle Chips and Chili Cheese Fries - you honestly can't go wrong with anything they have on their menu.
Latonia and the surrounding areas are thrilled that Bard's has emerged as a classic burger and chili joint. Their claim of "the dive that's worth the drive" is oh, so true. You'll love the nostalgic atmosphere and you'll love the food even more.
