Perfectly located off the beaten path, but near Kentucky Lake, Catfish Kitchen has a reputation for some of the best catfish around. It's perfectly seasoned and fried and with their all-you-can-eat option, you can enjoy as much of it as you want.
The interior of the restaurant is whimsical and fun. You're likely to have a long wait, but there is plenty to look at inside the restaurant's waiting area or even outside on the property. They have a loud speaker, so you can wander around and check out the adjoining ponds, gazebo and antique farm machinery.
The menu is simple, yet extremely satisfying. Within minutes of sitting down, you'll have food in front of you and the service is just as efficient throughout your meal. You will definitely not go hungry.
The fried catfish is the star of the show, but they do have other options. If you'd like your fish prepared a different way, you can call ahead and ask. They also have fried chicken strips that are tasty as well.
The sides are a close second to the fish and they are the first things that will arrive at your table. Chow down on endless white beans, coleslaw and crispy hushpuppies. With the all-you-can-eat option, you also get to choose a potato to arrive with your fish or chicken.
The views from inside the restaurant add to the atmosphere and make the fish taste even better. Even if you do have to wait a bit for a table, or awhile for your food (this one is highly unlikely, though), there is plenty to keep you entertained.
