I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
There’s an abundance of natural beauty in Kentucky, from the tops of our rolling blue hills and green-tinged mountains to the depths of our coppery, colorful caves. Our lakes are particularly striking, boasting clear-blue waters so pristine, they rival anything you’d find in a Caribbean paradise! And Dewey Lake certainly ranks at the top. The most vibrant lake in Kentucky, Dewey Lake is a place you must see to believe. And we highly recommend doing so in person.
A longtime favorite Kentucky State Park, Jenny Wiley State Resort Park is located in the eastern region of the state, and offers visitors 2,871 acres of pure Bluegrass beauty.
The park offers an abundance of opportunities for outdoor recreation of both the land and water varieties, from hiking and birding to paddling and fishing.
As one of Kentucky's premier resort parks, Jenny Wiley is a popular staycation in the Bluegrass State, with guests getting up-close views of the park's crown jewel, the ravishing, 1,100-acre Dewey Lake.
This lovely lake is a cerulean pool with some of the bluest water in the state. It's beckoned to Bluegrass residents since the park opened in 1954, providing sandy shores and clear waters suitable for an amazing Kentucky beach day.
Accessible and fun for families and guests of all ages and abilities, Jenny Wiley State Resort Park offers pontoons, canoes, kayaks, and jon boat rentals at its marina, which is open seasonally from March 15-Oct. 31.
And for those who love nothing more than spending a day with a line cast in the water, Dewey Lake has some of the very best fishing in Kentucky; its deep-blue waters teeming with bluegill, catfish, crappie, largemouth, smallmouth, and rock bass.
Here at Only In Kentucky, we know Kentucky is beautiful; it'a an undeniable fact. But when you visit Dewey Lake, the most vibrant lake in Kentucky, well, you'll feel just how beautiful the Bluegrass is, in your heart and soul.
Have you visited this vibrant blue lake in Kentucky before? Can you believe this slice of paradise in Kentucky is hiding at Jenny Wiley State Resort Park?! It really is a wonder to behold!
