Festivals are a big deal in Kentucky and they’re a popular way to gather together and enjoy a common interest. The Bluegrass State has countless festivals throughout the year, and we shared many of them previously here. Another favorite to add to the list is happening this weekend in Lexington and celebrates one of Kentucky’s favorite pastimes – eating. Crave is a food and musical festival that is in its 6th year for 2018. It has grown into one of the most scrumptious food festivals in all of Kentucky and a can’t miss event in our state.
Crave Food & Music Festival takes place this weekend, August 11th & 12th, at Bluegrass Fairgrounds at Masterson Station Park.
This popular food fest has steadily grown over the past 6 years and this year will include more than 50 food vendors for you to try. The festival is a great opportunity to try new restaurants without the commitment of an entire meal, as all vendors offer smaller portions of multiple items.
The food offerings at Crave vary and include something for everyone. Whether you're an adventurous eater or extremely picky, you'll find something to love.
There are plenty of savory options with choices like barbecue, burgers, pizza, tacos, pasta, and more. If you have a sweet tooth, Crave is dangerously delicious with ice cream, shaved ice, pastries, and many other sweet treats available. When you purchase your admission ticket at the gate ($8, children 10 and under are free), you'll also want to go ahead and purchase Crave Bucks. One Crave Buck is $1, and the average adult needs about $30 for food, according to past experience. Each food vendor will have $2, $3, and $5 priced items for you to choose from, so you can get a lot with $30 of Crave Bucks!

There's plenty to drink, as well as eat, at the festival, and the vendor set ups are quite impressive.
Many restaurants and food trucks bring all of their typical equipment to be sure you're getting the real deal when it comes to their food. Crave Bars are also available for beverages, and these take Crave Bucks, as well as cash or credit card. For food purchases, however, you will need to be sure to have those Crave Bucks! All of this is explained in detail on the festival's website, linked below.
In addition to all of the delicious food and drinks, Crave offers a lively, family-friendly atmosphere that will keep everyone entertained.
There's live music throughout the weekend, food demonstrations, and tons of activities for the kids. It's a great summer tradition to start with your family now for plenty of quality time, and of course scrumptious food.
Crave serves up some of the best food in Kentucky, so it's no wonder many call it the best and most scrumptious food festival in the state.
If you're near Lexington, or really anywhere close at all, consider a visit to Crave this weekend. The festival runs Saturday, August 11th from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, August 12th from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Crave is an undeniably scrumptious festival in Kentucky that allows you to taste many local foods, and perhaps even discover a new favorite dining destination in the Bluegrass.
