I am somewhat a cliche'. I grew up running around barefoot on a farm in Kentucky.
I love writing, art, sunshine, all animals and my incredibly patient husband, who tolerates my "crazy animal lady" side.
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, but you don’t have to look far within our borders to find it. Our state is renowned for scenic beauty and serene spots to escape into nature. However, we should also be recognized for the cities that gave us attractive people in Kentucky. The is an abundance of beautiful everyday people scattered to the north, south, east and west here, but some cities are blessed with being the birth place of incredibly attractive individuals that are/were also very successful. Since we all don’t know the lovely Jane or Jon Does down the street, this list is comprised of our cities that gave us beautiful celebrities that touched hearts or minds in some way.
These 11 cities gave birth to “some” of the most attractive people in Kentucky:
11. Paintsville
This is home to the beautiful Paintsville Lake, offering fresh clean air and one of the most relaxing environments in Kentucky. Perhaps that all the clean air and country living is what helps beautiful beings like Crystal Gail come into existence. There are only 4,283 residents here, but rest assured you will find some beauties among them.
Danville is home to Centre College and its Center for the Arts, making it a haven for young, artistic minded individuals. There may not be a lot of people considering it is a college town, but with only 16, 41l, it was still the birthplace of Ashley Gorley, Eddie and John Michael Montgomery.
There are less than 6,000 residents in Union, but that is part of what makes it special. It is a quiet town that instills the country life and love of nature. People here have their traditions, and that helps keep the ambiance of the area what it is. Josh Hutcherson was born in this quaint little city.
This is the tiniest town on our list with a population of only 1,180, which means when it comes to fresh air and beautiful surroundings, this is the place to be. This is one of Kentucky’s Mayberry communities, welcoming tradition, clean living and Mother Nature’s ambiance. This was the birthplace of the beautiful inside and out, daughter of and supporter of Veterans, Heather French Henry.
Murray is a college town with a population of 18,106, and you best believe there are some beautiful people among them. It is a community of clean air and quality living. You can take a stroll through the downtown area and see a beautiful person on every block. The famed Molly Sims was born here.
The population here is 21,407, and the atmosphere is what you’d expect from a town of this size. It is quiet and peaceful for the most part, with a serene park and a unique museum and discovery center. It was the birthplace of Keith Whitley, Venus Ramey (Pictured, first redheaded Ms. America, 1944.), Chuck Woolery, and the Judd sisters, Ashley, Naomi and Wynona.
This community has a population of 40,956, and more than seven historic churches, including the St. Mary’s Cathedral of Basilica Assumption, home of the second biggest handmade stained glass window in the U.S. It is pretty obvious that the people here feel close to God, which might have something to do with the beautiful people like Una Merkel that are born here.
This little town of 8,920 on the banks of the Ohio River has a Mayberry like ambiance. It is easy to see how people can be at peace here, even if famous. Rosemary Clooney is a fine example of the beauty of Maysville. It is a classic type of community that produced a classic beauty.
This is Kentucky’s second largest city and is in the heart of horse country and home to the Keeneland track. The rolling hills and scenic farms provide a beautiful atmosphere to raise a family around nature and modern conveniences. Lexington gave us the famed George Clooney (born in Lexington, partially raised in Augusta.), Kevin Richardson, Farah Fath, Josh Hopkins, and Melissa McBride (Carol of Walking Dead.). If you happen to visit the area, don’t be surprised to see the next big thing walking downtown in the sunshine.
This town is the third largest in Kentucky and has the perfect balance of city and country life. Fresh air, trees, farms and sunshine is just part of the life in Owensboro. Perhaps all that natural beauty is why it gave us Florence Henderson and Johnny Depp. No words describe my gratitude for that. If you take a ride through Owensboro, you will be awed by the amount of "unknown" beautiful individuals. Some of them really should be in films… but still, thank you Owensboro for Johnny.
This is Kentucky’s largest city, so it isn’t surprising the amount of beautiful or famous people that are born here. Being the largest city, it has several colleges and technical schools, plentiful housing, an international airport, and is a port town. Irene Dunn, Jennifer carpenter, Jennifer Lawrence, Hunter Thompson, Diane Sawyer, Mary Sean Young, Marsha Norman, Ned Beatty, Jennifer Carpenter, and Victor John Mature were all born in Louisville, and the list could go on and on.
There is no shortage of cities filled with attractive people in Kentucky. If your city isn’t on here, you are considered among the lovely, but unknown “Jane or Jon Does” previously mentioned. You are welcome to comment the beautiful people born in Kentucky you think deserve recognition, be he/she a relative, friend or someone who just does good deeds. Beauty is all around us! What cities do you think seem to have an abundance of beautiful people?
