Morehead State University can be found in Eastern Kentucky and happens to have one of the most scenic campuses in the state.
If you go to school here or live in the area, you are surrounded by natural beauty. But the beauty that you find up in the sky is also appreciated — and studied! — here.
The campus is home to the Space Science Center, which is a great resource for those studying physics, earth science, and space systems engineering.
It is also a great resource for the public, as it often hosts events and welcomes groups for field trips and other gatherings. It is also home to The Star Theater, a state-of-the-art digital planetarium in Kentucky.

The planetarium offers public shows every Saturday from September through June.
They do close up during winter break, but shows will resume on January 15, 2020. The theater is also available for groups to use by reservation in the evenings and throughout the week.
The 11 a.m. one is especially family-friendly, ideal for those with children ages 4-10. There are also laser shows for added excitement and you'll have a chance to learn about the Kentucky skies from an MSU staff member. Read about all of the shows offered on the planetarium's website.
If you visit on a sunny day, there will also be solar telescopes set up outside so you can see the sun like never before.
