I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
There’s a scene in the classic children’s book, “Harold and the Purple Crayon,” where Harold conjures up a picnic of pies with his trusty purple crayon. Harold was hungry, “So he laid out a simple picnic lunch. There was nothing but pie. But there were all nine kinds of pie that Harold liked best.” Well, if Harold was happy with nine pies, he’d be positively delighted by Missy’s, a bakery in Lexington, Kentucky, that dishes up over a dozen delicious varieties of pie each and every day!
This unassuming little shop might not look like much from the outside, but we all know that it's what's on the inside that counts.
Each pie is more delicious than the next, with Missy's offering everything from classic cherry and coconut cream to its show-stopping "Mayday Pie" -- a pie full of pecans and chocolate chips.
You can purchase pies whole or by the slice. We recommend getting an extra slice of something to dig into right away! This chocolate cream pie is calling your name...
Missy's also offers some of the favorite menu items from Ramsey's that you can take home with you, such as Chicken Pot Pie, Chicken n' Dumplings, and a variety of hearty soups.
Missy's is proof that you don't need to have a flashy Insta feed or gimmicks to be successful. You just have to make really great food, and the rest will fall into place. Easy as pie.
