It’s pretty much a universal rule that everyone must love mac and cheese. What’s not to love about pasta, smothered in cheesy, creamy goodness? Of course, many of us grew up eating the boxed variety, but thankfully there’s a Kentucky restaurant that has created the ultimate kid’s menu, but with a grown-up twist. Mac’s Dough House in Louisville takes mac and cheese to the next level and their delicious menu is what dreams are made of.
Brand new to the Louisville food scene, Mac's Dough House is now open in Jeffersontown.
The owners set out to create a menu that focuses on two childhood favorites —
mac and cheese and pizza — but with an adult-friendly twist. They've succeeded with an innovative menu and restaurant that is a crowd-pleaser with these two popular meals.
The interior of Mac's is cool, comfortable. and perfect for both meeting up with friends after work or taking the family out to dinner.
You'll love the themed art and modern, rustic touches that create a fun atmosphere for your meal. They also claim to have "phenomenal Instagram lighting," which we all know is very important these days (wink wink). We appreciate their nod to pop culture and sense of humor.
Their original mac and cheese is a creamy blend of white cheddar and parmesan with their own special spice blend. Each mac and cheese dish is served in the dish it was baked in, so it comes out piping hot.
But it doesn't stop there. Mac's offers 9 other mouthwatering options to try their mac and cheese.
The Buffalo Chicken (shown above) is incredible. We also recommend the Mac Brown (a nod to the Kentucky Hot Brown), the Firestarter for some heat, and the Pig Out, which features delicious pulled pork.
The menu also includes fast favorites such as the Mac Balls, a crispy appetizer, and the Smore Balls, which are basically dessert heaven.
Mac's Dough House is a welcome addition to the Louisville dining scene and will surely join the list of Kentucky favorites. They also specialize in pizza, so have the mac and cheese or lunch and head on back for dinner to try the pizza. Your taste buds will thank you.
Mac’s Dough House takes two of our favorite meals and does the impossible — makes them even better. Have you tried the mac and cheese at Mac’s yet? What about the pizza? Share your experience with us in the comments!
Mac’s Dough House is located at 10509 Watterson Trail Louisville, KY 40299. For more information, visit their website here.
