Conceptual artist Serkan Özkaya made this double-size, golden replica of Michelangelo’s David for the 9th International Istanbul Biennial in 2005. Özkaya made the statue from fiberglass and gold, following the dimensions using a virtual 3D model. Now it is one of the most memorable pieces of art on display in Louisville!

Step inside and you'll see an amazing permanent installation called "Text Rain."
Camille Utterback is the artist behind this incredible interactive piece, which uses a projection to show a video of yourself as letters fall on your image. The installation lets you manipulate the letters, which are not random, but a poem about bodies and language. Extend your arms out to catch a full phrase of the poem at once!
Other exhibits rotate frequently, so there's always something new to see.
21c Museum has two levels of contemporary art, with some installations that are permanent and many others that rotate in and out. It's common to see awesome sculptures and canvas art made with unique materials. There is typically a room or two dedicated to experimental film, which is definitely something you don't see everyday. There's always something new, exciting, and unusual to wrap your head around here.
This piece, titled "Cloud Rings" and created by Ned Kahn, was inspired by the science behind nature. These machines produce puffs of cloud-like fog every minute or so and can be seen both from the streets of Louisville and through a window inside the museum.
