Fall is here! That means you need to start planning everything you want to do during this year’s beautiful autumn season. Here in Louisville, we love getting into the spirit of harvest time, so there are plenty of things to do. Listed below are a few awesome activities to add to your calendar this autumn.
1. Go pumpkin picking at Huber's Orchard.
Huber's Orchard has a huge pumpkin patch to wander through and so many other fun activities to participate in this fall. Huber's farm is also a winery, and you can have a glass or a sampling of each wine variety. Be sure to stop by their ice cream and cheese shop too!
Huber's Orchard is located at 19816 Huber Road, Borden, IN 47106.
2. Take a stroll beneath the falling leaves in Cherokee Park.
Cherokee Park is beautiful during the fall, and so are most of the parks across the city. Take time to enjoy the beautiful leaves falling this season.
3. Spend the day at NuLu Fest.
NuLu Fest is coming up at the end of the month. There will be food trucks, local beer, fun activities, retail booths from local businesses, and live music playing all day!
NuLu Fest will be held on Saturday, September 30th, 2017, from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm, on the 600, 700, and 800 blocks of East Market Street.
4. Visit the Douglass Loop Farmer's Market.
Enjoy local food trucks, produce, and more at the Douglass Loop Farmer's Market this fall. Who knew grocery shopping could be so fun?
5. Enjoy a hayride at Eckert's Boyd Orchard.
You have to participate in all of the fun fall activities, of course! This orchard is perfect for the whole family to enjoy, as they offer hayrides, pumpkin picking, a corn maze, and a playground. Your family will have a blast at Eckert's Boyd Orchard.
6. Get spooked at one of the many haunted houses in the city.
Pictured above is the Haunted Hotel, one of the most highly rated haunted houses in the city. There are plenty of other places to check out this halloween season, too, such as Waverly Hills, the Baxter Avenue Morgue, and Danger Run.
7. Attend the most amazing art fair in Old Louisville.
This year's St. James Art Fair will be on October 6th-8th. With more than 300 artists selling beautiful works at this fair, you'll spend the entire day looking through each tent and still want to return the next day, too.
8. Take a hop on this scenic dinner train in Bardstown, Kentucky.
Just look at the beautiful foliage surrounding this train. The ride lasts several hours as you enjoy a delicious meal with the most magnificent views. You can buy your dinner tickets online for $85 per adult or $55 per child.
