1. This incredible view of the Louisville skyline and fall foliage.
One could sit for hours on the Iroquois Park overlook. If you're looking for a scenic place to get some well deserved relaxation, try hiking up to this point at Iroquois Park this fall. The view is incredibly therapeutic.
2. The vast meadow of yellow wildflowers.
Broad Run Park is filled with amazing nature to explore, but just take a look at this colorful meadow. One could lay in this patch of yellow flowers and feel completely at ease, or have a fun family picnic to get away from the city.
3. The Falls of the Ohio.
Although it's across the river, the Falls of the Ohio is one of the most relaxing places you can find around Louisville. It feels very secluded, and usually all you can hear is the rushing water from the falls. Sitting on a ledge and looking out at our beautiful city will relax you and put everything into perspective.
4. Our beautiful trees in Cherokee Park.
Cherokee Park is an especially magnificent sight during the fall season. The leaves begin to change into a brilliant orange hue and float to the ground around you as you walk through the park. It's a great place to get exercise and take your mind off of life's worries.
5. Jefferson Memorial Forest.
Just looking at the endless green forest from this outlook calms me from my computer. Hiking through the Jefferson Memorial Forest is the perfect solution if you need relaxing solitude. And, just like Iroquois Park, it provides amazing views of the foliage during the fall.
6. The magical Ohio wetlands.
Looking to escape Louisville and go on and adventure? Right across the river is the Loop Island Wetlands, which provides gorgeous scenery like the photo above. Exploring the wetlands is fun and relaxing, and will completely take your mind off of any troubles.
7. Watch Fairmount Falls trickle down into the creek.
Listen to the gentle trickling of Fairmount Falls and you'll instantly begin to relax. This beautiful waterfall will put your mind at ease.
8. Sit back and relax at McNeely Lake.
Bring your fishing gear or maybe just a nice lawn chair to comfortably view the lovely McNeely Lake. The waters will calm you, but if you get antsy there are plenty of trails to keep your preoccupied too.
