The fall season is approaching and soon everyone will be hunting down that perfect pumpkin for decorating, carving, and even eating. Pumpkins pretty much take over the world this time of year, and there’s an upcoming event where you can see a few of these beauties that may actually be able to take on anything. Located in the small town of Guston, Roberts Family Farm is once again hosting The Great Pumpkin Pursuit, and you can see some of the largest pumpkins in the world at this charming festival in Kentucky.
Each fall, many family farms throughout Kentucky swing open their fences and welcome visitors to experience the wonders of the season. Located in Meade County in the town of Guston, Roberts Family Farm is a popular destination in the fall for pumpkin picking, hayrides, homemade treats, and outdoor fun.
The farm is open for many events throughout the year, but it's particularly special in the fall. On evenings and weekends beginning September 15, 2018, you can stop by and experience plenty of fall fun on the farm.
Pumpkins are, of course, the star of the season and everyone wants to hunt down the perfect one. It's a tradition to head to the pumpkin patch and choose one to carve, but you've probably never aimed to take home one of the world's largest pumpkins.
On September 15, the Roberts Family Farm, along with Meade County, will host The Great Pumpkin Pursuit. This is a competition to see who has grown the largest pumpkin, watermelon, and other produce. Awards are given and you can have a front-row seat.
These are not your typical pumpkins that can be hoisted up on your shoulder. It takes several people, large equipment, and quite a bit of skill to maneuver these giants from the ground to the scale and then back again.
The corn maze at Roberts Family Farm is also a favorite and should definitely be attempted after the largest pumpkin is crowned. This one-of-a-kind event and all of the fall fun are ideal ways to kick off the season in the beautiful state of Kentucky.
The Great Pumpkin Pursuit held at Roberts Family Farm is a unique fall event and a great way to begin this fun-filled season. Have you been to a pumpkin contest before? Which is your favorite? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!
