As major events around the state are cancelled or postponed, many of us are disappointed to miss out on things we’ve been looking forward to for months. One of the most highly anticipated events in Kentucky this year was Wild Lights: Asian Lantern Festival, held at the Louisville Zoo. While the reopening of this event is up in the air, you can still see this stunning lantern festival with a behind the scenes virtual tour in Kentucky, as well as a few photos taken earlier this season.

It opened after much anticipation and while some did get the chance to visit, we all know that this event has been postponed for the time being.
So much work went into setting up these incredible works of art and they still decorate the pathways and open spaces at the zoo, even with no one there to see them.

The zoo is trying to extend the end date past April 25th, but of course no one knows what will or can happen at this point.
Whether you already had tickets or were hoping to go, there is a way to get a glimpse of the beauty of this event.

As of right now, this is the only behind the scenes video shared by the zoo, but we can hope for more and keep an eye on their Facebook page, linked below.
And we can also look forward to the time when we can go back to the zoo and visit our favorite animals.
