Back in the day, every town had a little local diner where everyone would hang out, eat, and relax. Today we tend to communicate more through social media than across a table at a restaurant, so when a place opens up that evokes all sorts of nostalgia, we should definitely check it out. Brenda’s Snack Shack opened in the fall of 2017 in Hopkinsville and has quickly become a beloved addition to the town. If you enjoy a simple, delicious meal or sweet treat, friendly people, and a retro theme, then you’ll love Kentucky’s snack shack that’s a true blast from the past.
Brenda's Snack Shack is located within the Indian Hills Shopping Center in Hopkinsville, and although it's only been open a few months, it seems as if it could've been there for decades. It could have something to do with its 50s-style nostalgic feel, which is evident from the moment you walk in.
Brenda's has quickly become a favorite spot in the community and it's easy to see why. The adorable sign on the outside begs you to stop in, and once you see the inside, you'll know you came to the right place.
The interior is decked out in 50s-style diner decor and, although brand new, has a comfortable, inviting atmosphere. You'll also be greeted by plenty of smiling faces, delicious smells, and maybe even some classic tunes playing in the background. It truly is a blast from the past in the best ways possible.

Although it is called a "Snack Shack," Brenda's is perfect for both a quick snack or a filling meal. Their current menu is great, and they plan on updating it and adding even more very soon!
The restaurant is open Monday - Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., so it's a great spot for lunch, dinner, or a snack any time of day. The fresh deli sandwiches are a highlight on the menu, and you can get one exactly how you prefer. Pair it with a bag of chips and a cold bottle of soda, and you have a classic diner meal. Also ask if they have their Chicken n' Dumplins, which is another fan favorite on the menu.
Another favorite treat offered at Brenda's is their ice cream. They offer several mouthwatering flavors and you can get them scooped up on a cone or mixed into a delicious sundae.
You can also enjoy a number of different shakes and floats, which taste even better when eaten at the soda shop-style counter. Another thing to love about Brenda's Snack Shop are the prices, which are incredibly reasonable and allow you to come back for more.
The character and charm evident within Brenda's Snack Shop is overwhelming, and it's the exact type of place you would've expected to see Elvis wander into back in the day.
When you step through the doors of Brenda's today, expect a wonderful blast from the past, a delicious meal or snack, and an unforgettable experience. And you also never know who you may see (on the walls) when you pay a visit to this cool, retro diner and soda shop in Kentucky.
