Do you know about the remote state park perched on the slopes of one of Kentucky’s rugged mountain ranges? That mountain is Pine Mountain, and the state park is called Kingdom Come State Park.
Located in wild and gorgeous Harlan County near Cumberland, Kingdom Come State Park is well worth a visit in any season of the year. And while you’re there, you do not want to miss the breathtaking panoramic views you’ll find from the park’s many overlooks!
Kentucky has some beautiful forests, and we love them as much as anyone. But occasionally, when we get to feeling a little crowded by the thick canopy, we need a place that opens up and lets us see for miles. And one such place is Kingdom Come State Park in Harlan County.
There are five developed viewpoints that look out over miles and miles of Kentucky mountains: Black Mountain Gazebo Overlook, Creech Overlook, 12 O'Clock Overlook, and the two Raven Rock Overlooks.
And interestingly, the five overlooks in Kingdom Come State Park are not the only five that Pine Mountain boasts! Here are five more that are worth seeing in nearby Letcher County.
