Unless you live in Louisville, you may not be aware of the massive undertaking going on to create plenty of parks and green space for residents and visitors to enjoy. Southeast of downtown, The Parklands of Floyds Fork is a system of four parks that are naturally connected, making the area one epically adventurous natural attraction. While there are still changes and additions being made, we’re going to focus on one of the newer parks, as it is arguably the most beautiful. Turkey Run Park is absolutely incredible and even if you don’t live in Louisville, you’ll want to make plans to visit.
Outdoor enthusiasts and those who seek adventure will feel right at home at Turkey Run Park.
One of the most recognizable features is the tall yellow Silo that charms visitors along the adjacent paved path. You can climb the 109 stairs to the top for amazing 360 degree views of the park below.
The property was a former dairy farm, and the park has managed to retain much of that farm character and appeal by repurposing former barns and other structures.
The Silo Center Bike Park within Turkey Run Park opens at 10AM, Sunday, September 17th. Shown is the Crazy Red’s Wall Ride, just one of the exciting details within this soon-to-be favorite area.
While all of the Parklands is beautiful, Turkey Run Park has something special.
Perhaps it's how the park was created from a farm and still has that original charm, or maybe it's the picturesque surroundings and views. But one thing is for sure - you're going to love this incredible park in Kentucky.
Louisville and Kentucky are so lucky to have so many naturally beautiful spaces to explore and relax. With such a beautiful state, it’s no wonder there’s a call for more parks and green spaces.
