I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
Pop quiz: what’s the official state drink of Kentucky? While many of us might be inclined to say bourbon, it’s not… it’s Ale-8-One! Bourbon and the Bluegrass go hand-in-hand, and while it’s certainly a celebrated part of the state’s culture, there’s more to discover in Kentucky. For instance, did you know Kentucky has its own style of beer? It’s true! Kentucky Common Ale was brewed primarily between the 1850s and the 1920s, and a handful of breweries have revived this once-ubiquitous drink, including Dreaming Creek Brewery in Richmond.
While the Bluegrass is well known for bourbon, we enjoy all kinds of libations here. There are vineyards and wineries, craft breweries and distilleries. Today we're shining the spotlight on one of our favorite craft breweries in Kentucky: Dreaming Creek.
A place that's the very definition of #KentuckyProud, Dreaming Creek's flagship brews include Kentucky Common, Blue Lick Blonde, Natural Bridge IPA, Wilderness Road Amber Ale, and Sheltowheat Hefeweizen.
In fact, each month, Dreaming Creek puts together a bespoke beer flight that provides guests with "The Quintessential Dreaming Creek Experience." All varities are hand-selected by Dreaming Creek's owner and aimed to give folks a full-bodied beer drinking experience!
Whether you opt for an IPA or Kentucky Common Ale, you're in for quite a treat when you visit this craft brewery located in the heart of Daniel Boone's Bluegrass frontier.
