Living in Kentucky is such a treat. Especially since there are so many stunningly gorgeous natural areas and epic hiking trails in Kentucky. Nestled in the Red River Gorge is a short and sweet trail that is a ton of fun for kids and adults alike. If you’re looking for a hiking trail that’s more than just pretty views, check out the Whistling Arch Trail in Kentucky!
While the trail is short and easy, it’s also quite the adventure! It’s only a half-mile out-and-back trail; however, it is packed with unique features and utterly stunning views.
You’ll find the trailhead just off Sky Bridge Road in Red River Gorge near Pine Ridge on a little turnoff named Fd-1007. There is a parking area off the main road.
Intriguing rock formations abound along this trail, providing lots of places for kids to explore. Just make sure to steer clear of the formations near the cliff edge.
With views like this, you can’t pass this trail up! Just don’t get too close to the edge, friends. It’s a rather popular trail and there’s an abundance of wildlife to see all around the area. Birders love to come to this spot. Your dog can come along provided they’re on a leash.
