There are local BBQ restaurants all over Kentucky, and each town seems to have a favorite – or even a competitive spirit over which is actually the best. But we think there’s no such thing as too many delicious barbecue joints, so when a popular Bowling Green food truck expanded to a brick and mortar restaurant, it was a reason to celebrate. Nine20Live serves up real, pit-smoked BBQ, and this underrated Kentucky restaurant has mouthwatering sandwiches so big, they may topple over.
Nine20Live is a family-owned BBQ eatery in Bowling Green that recently celebrated its one-year anniversary as a brick and mortar restaurant. Its popular hickory-smoked pork, chicken, and ribs have a loyal local following, and it's a great pit stop (pun intended) when passing through Bowling Green.
The owner and chef began his BBQ business with a food truck that attracted many hungry visitors. Following its successful start, an actual restaurant was opened, and now everyone can enjoy this mouthwatering barbecue in the comfort of a family-friendly space.
The atmosphere at Nine20Live is perfect for anyone who wants to chow down on barbecue. They now have this dine-in option in addition to carry-out, and even a drive-thru for super convenient meals on the go.
The flavor and quality of the barbecue at Nine20Live is what fans love the most. Their menu is also a great value, as your plate is piled high with food for a great price.
The menu includes sandwiches, ribs, meals with sides, appetizers, and sweet banana pudding for dessert. If you can't decide, go with "The Whole Sha-Bang," which includes pulled pork, chicken, ribs, and two sides.
And if that's not enough, try one of their massive, about to topple over, sandwiches. The "Massacre" is a popular choice, or you can go with a huge pulled pork sandwich, topped with coleslaw and their signature sauce - just make sure to grab a fork!
Follow along with Nine20Live on Facebook (linked below) for any specials that they're offering, such as these loaded potatoes. Other unique items on the menu include BBQ nachos and BBQ egg rolls.
Nine20Live is a great local spot to visit, whether you want to sit down and enjoy a huge barbecue meal or you need to zip through the drive-thru and take it to go. It's a favorite BBQ joint in Bowling Green, but the rest of Kentucky should make an effort to visit this underrated BBQ destination in the Bluegrass.
