Just 30 minutes outside the hustle and bustle of Louisville, Hermitage Farm is 683 acres of pure Bluegrass beauty: rolling hills, bucolic farmland, original horse barns, historic buildings -- and a fantastic, farm-to-table restaurant.
Originally building number 8 of Hermitage Farm's historic horse stables, Barn8 Restaurant is a converted barn restaurant that's easily one of the most unique places to dine in Kentucky.
This truly is a barn restaurant, with dining rooms housed in former horse stalls. Barn8 preserved many of the horse barn's original details, adding charming new features such as a wrought iron handrail, bourbon barrels (of course!), and contemporary art.
The fare here is as fresh as it gets; on-site gardens inspire the veg-forward menu. Chef Alison Settle thoughtfully plans dishes that are contemporary and totally crave-worthy.
The menu changes seasonally, depending on what's available, with all dishes spotlighting the unrivaled and expansive bounty of the Bluegrass. Seasonal menu items include things like grilled carrots, heirloom tomato spaghetti, and mushroom risotto.
And the charming experience extends to breakfast, too! Bluegrass brunch favorites like biscuits and gravy and apple fritters are irresistibly delicious.
