With Kentucky’s impressive list of State Parks, it’s understandable that you haven’t visited or even heard of all of them. Our parks are one of the best features of our state and we are lucky to have them and we should show our appreciation by paying them a visit. One particular park that should definitely be on your radar is Levi Jackson Wilderness Road State Park in southeast Kentucky. This park combines natural beauty and history to make for one unique and memorable visit.
Located in London, Kentucky, Levi Jackson Wilderness Road State Park has so much to offer, including abounding natural beauty.
The park is filled with wooded, rolling hills that are teeming with history. The park provides a relaxing place to reconnect with nature, while also honoring the pioneers who originally settled Kentucky.

Wilderness Road was used by many, starting in 1796, to travel west into the interior of Kentucky.
Today, within the park, you can walk in their footsteps on 8.5 miles of hiking trails. These trails have a variety of landscapes and offer a heavenly escape into Kentucky's natural beauty.

The multiple structures on the park's property pay homage to Kentucky's past and allow visitors to have a taste of pioneer life.
McHargue’s Mill is an operating grist mill, surrounded by stunning scenery. There is also a museum that consists of 7 historically accurate buildings. These are all open seasonally, Memorial Day through October 31st, but the park itself is open year-round for exploring.
There's a 136-site campground that is open year-round, a seasonal putt-putt course, and even a brand new treetop aerial adventure. And, of course, there are acres and acres of rolling Kentucky hills to explore.
Each Kentucky State Park has its own unique appeal and Levi Jackson is no exception.
