Part of the fun of traveling is finding unique places to spend the night. Kentucky is full of hotels, bed and breakfasts, and even tree houses and Wigwams where you can enjoy a memorable night away. If you love history and stepping back in time, then this unique mansion in Kentucky is one to add to your bucket list. The Culbertson Mansion in Louisville is a historic bed and breakfast where you can relive Kentucky’s past during a stay you’ll never forget.
Completed in 1897 and located in the heart of Old Louisville on 3rd Street, the Culbertson Mansion is a historic bed and breakfast that is filled with treasured Kentucky history.
Built by Samuel Culbertson, this stretch of road was a sort of millionaire's row at the time and today the neighborhood is a National Historic District with arguably the most stunning architecture in the state.
The mansion was in the Culbertson family until 1950 when a builder converted it into apartments.
Thankfully, the builder did not destroy the historic character of the building and much of it was able to be restored. The restoration was mostly completed between 1975 and 1985 and the home is now a grand representation of the timeless era in which it was built.
