We all have our own ideas of the definition of heaven on earth. For farm animals often subjected to unspeakable cruelty, abuse, and neglect, heaven on earth comes after rescue. It’s a safe place to heal from physical and emotional trauma, to learn to trust humans, and to safely live out their lives in peace. Meet some of the rescued farm animals who’ve found heaven on earth at this sanctuary in Kentucky.
Good Acres Sanctuaries, in Lawrenceburg, provides a lifelong safe haven for rescued farm animals.
The sprawling sanctuary is home to countless rescued animals, including goats, lambs, pigs, cows, donkeys, and horses. Each has their own individual personality and story.
You'll get to meet such adorable animals as Rupert the potbellied pig, Livi the lamb, and Simon the rooster. Stop by and say hi to Rosie, the disabled donkey, too.
Tickets for individual tours cost $10 per person while visitors under 15 years old are free. Tours provide a glimpse into life at the farm sanctuary and the opportunity to meet the residents.
Even if you're not able to make it to Good Acres Sanctuaries, you can still help them fulfill their mission. You can, for example, become a sponsor for one of the sanctuary's residents.
