These days we’re all about comfort food. And, few things are as satisfying at German food when it comes to being well-fed and comforted. With dishes that feel like they came straight from the heart, this little spot is one of our favorites.
Welcome to Gasthaus German Restaurant in Louisville, where you'll find "food like in Germany, only closer!"
Michael and Annemarie Greipel along with their five children have owned and operated Gasthaus since 1993. And their dedication to real German food shines through.
The dishes here are so comforting. We recommend you start with a salad or soup. The cream of potato soup comes with German sausage pieces. And there's always a soup of the day.
The meat dishes here are fantastic. The menu includes things like gulasch which includes Hungarian-style beef cubes and sauerbraten which is tender beef marinated for at least 7 days in old-world spices, herbs, and wine vinegar.
Gasthaus German Restaurant is typically open Tuesday through Saturday from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. You can learn more about it and see a menu by visiting their website. Or, check them out on Facebook.
