Kentucky’s small towns are the heartbeat of the state. If you’re from one of the bigger cities, you have to admit that there’s nothing like strolling down the Main Street of a charming town, surrounded by local shops and friendly people. While it’s nearly impossible to say which town is the “best,” we can categorize them and such as today, feature the most enchanting. Midway, located midway between Frankfort and Lexington, is its own destination town and you’ll never forget a trip to its quiet, enchanting streets.
Located in one of the loveliest areas of Kentucky, Midway is an ideal day trip or weekend getaway.
No matter which way you choose to get there (although we recommend Old Frankfort Pike to 62), it's a picturesque drive through horse country. The treelined streets, horse farms and scenic distilleries make the entire area enchanting.
Midway's Main Street is everything you'd hope for in a small town.
The colorful, historic buildings line the street where a railroad track nostalgically crosses through. On any day of the week, you may think you've entered a movie set.

Midway is the kind of town where the City Hall and Visitor's Center are in the same building and can be found right in the heart of the town.
The streets are filled with local boutiques, restaurants, antique shops and museums, where you'll find friendly Midway residents, eager to share their love for their town.

The enchantment continues with Railroad Drug and Old Time Soda Fountain - the type of store where they know you when you walk in and you can't leave without a sweet treat.
The Mill is home to a beautiful waterfall and gorgeous surroundings. It has operated at its site on South Elkhorn Creek since 1865 and offers more than 70 items, from flour to corn meal, bran, scone mixes and grits.

The enchantment of Midway comes from its simplicity.
