It just wouldn’t feel like Christmas without doing certain activities to get into the holiday spirit. Maybe it’s a family tradition you’ve been doing since you were a kid, or a recent discovery that makes everything merry and bright. No matter what is your favorite thing to do around the holidays, these 11 things are sure to make your Christmas even more enchanting.
1. Go see an amazing display of Christmas lights.
Whether you drive around your neighborhood to see how your neighbors decorated, or you travel a little farther to see some truly incredible light displays, seeing Christmas lights can be one of the most enchanting parts of the holiday season. 2. Go ice skating in downtown Louisville.
Every year, Light Up Louisville illuminates Kentucky's largest city, but the Christmas cheer lingers over downtown Louisville for weeks to come. A pop-up ice skating rink at 4th and Jefferson Streets is an ideal winter activity. It costs $10 to skate for one hour, and the ice rink will remain open until January 15.
3. Attend a winter festival.
There's no better way to get into the holiday spirit than by attending a winter festival or parade. Many of them, such as Luminate Lexington which is pictured above, have already passed as they are held the Friday after Thanksgiving to kick off the Christmas season, but it is a great thing to keep in mind for years to come.
4. Make a visit to Christmas Cottage.

11. Enjoy a festive bourbon cocktail.
What better way to celebrate the holidays than with Kentucky's native spirit. There are several ways to enjoy a Christmas bourbon drink, but you can't go wrong with bourbon and egg nog.
