If you love ice cream, then you probably remember eating an ice cream sundae at Ehrler’s. The ice cream icon served up some of the best ice cream confections in the state, but it disappeared about 15 years ago. It’s back now, and it’s better than ever! In fact, when you visit the downtown Louisville location, you’ll find some massive ice cream sandwiches that are true works of art.
Ehrler's got its start way back in 1867, and if you grew up in Louisville, you remember enjoying an ice cream treat here as a child. The company closed its shops back in the early 2000s, but its new owners brought it back in 2015.
The ice cream is just as wonderful as ever. It's made with the finest ingredients, following its 150-year tradition. You'll find nine flavors that are always on the menu, plus a couple of featured, seasonal flavors.
The "always" flavors include vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, butter pecan, cookies 'n cream, cookie dough chip, mint chocolate chip, bourbon pecan fudge, and orange sherbet.
