The great outdoors is not always easy to get to, but every once in a while, a beautiful trail is also easy to hike. Not everyone has the stamina for a long hike. For those of us who want natural beauty on an easy loop trail, Hematite Lake is the place to be. When you want to get outside to some of the state’s best scenery, this hiking trail can bring you there.
Today's adventure takes everyone to Hematite Lake, a stunning area near Kuttawa, Kentucky that is just too beautiful to resist.
This walk is a great idea for a day out in nature to photograph, spot wildlife, or take in some fresh air for a while. Out here, things are fresh and simple. Enjoy the view and stretch your legs somewhere special.
During the right seasons, sections of the lake near the trail are absolutely covered in lotus plants. Spotting all of the wildlife living around this area is half the fun.
The trail is about 2.4 miles long, and the elevation gain isn't too bad for most hikers. The trail is pleasantly easy to follow, and there's plenty of space to either side of you, especially on the boardwalk section.
Make sure you bring anything back with you that you bring out, and keep this beautiful area clean. All around the lake are great scenes to enjoy and keep as natural as possible.
