Almost everyone can agree that donuts are one of the best sweet treats and because of this, little donut shops seem to be popping up everywhere these days. One of these such shops has been open for a little while in Lexington and it is making quite the statement with its delicious donuts and bold coffee. Metropolitan Donuts and Coffee is an epic donut bar that will definitely satisfy your sweet tooth.
Just in their first year of business, Metropolitan Donuts and Coffee has quickly become a neighborhood favorite.
Locally owned and operated, the McCoy family wanted to bring a new, handcrafted twist to the donut world and also wanted to feature topnotch coffee to go along with it.
The beauty of Met is the endless options you can create on either a mini donut or a regular sized one.
You start by choosing an original donut or the donut flavor of the day and then you can customize it with your own icing, toppings and drizzle. If you are not the best at decision-making, just go with one of their tried and true options on the menu.

The donuts are made in the shop, in small batches and you can taste the freshness.
They only brew high quality coffee and have different types "on tap." Since it is Kentucky, be sure to try the Bourbon Caramel Latte alongside a Derby donut.
This donut and coffee shop is a wonderful addition to Lexington's morning routine.
The shop is open Tuesday - Friday 7am - 12pm and Saturday 8am - 1pm. They are closed on Sunday and Monday. But that still leaves plenty of time to stop in and satisfy your sweet tooth with one of these indulgent creations.
