She is passionate about animal rescue and live music - traveling across the country to see a favorite band is a pretty regular occurrence! Bet you didn’t know we had a real-life Jurassic Park right here in Cave City! If you’re a fan of dinosaurs in Kentucky, look no further: Dinosaur World is the place for you. There are also locations in Texas and Florida, but we’re going to focus on the bluegrass state for today. One neat thing about Dinosaur World is they allow leashed dogs, so if you’ve ever wanted to walk Rover beside a brontosaurus, now’s your opportunity.
Right at the entrance, you're greeted by a giant pterosaur.
The park is mostly located outdoors, so it's a great opportunity to get some fresh air and take a walk. They've got hundreds of life-sized dinosaurs on display.
Any dino-loving kid (or adult!) will feel right at home here. It looks like you stepped onto Isla Nublar from Jurassic Park. Except you don't have to worry about the dinosaurs chasing or eating you.
The models are realistic enough to be educational while not being too frightening for young children. There are informative signs by each one, so you'll learn as you are entertained!
The 5,000-square foot gift shop is loaded down with cool souvenirs, and there's even a dinosaur museum on site. The playground is, of course, dinosaur-themed.
It's conveniently located just off of the highway and makes for a great stop during a road trip. You're not going to find very many places to get out and stretch your legs amongst t-rexes and triceratops.
